A couple of weeks ago The All Made Up Team did a natural and soft bridal beauty makeover for one of our bridal models, here are some more teaser photos of what we did for our ‘Blushing Bride theme.  We kept the colors neutral and soft, and kept the pink and brown tones, and kept this look clean and simple.  Hope you enjoy our wedding day and bridal beauty makeover.

For those of you who know me well since I was young know…”I love cars“, and I would go to car shows either in Anaheim or Los Angeles every year.   I think my uncles really got me into cars when I was young, they would take me to car show conventions and from there on I was hooked!  I would remember coming home after the show and dreaming about driving the car and having my own…heck, I still do now when I see an NSX on the streets!  Unfortunately, my favorite car, the NSX, was discontinued in 2005…*sniff sniff**crying..crying**….

Anyways, my friends, Keith Selle Photography and Duc Pham from TaycoLayo Photography, decided to come down for the Hot Import Nights Car Show in Anaheim a couple of weeks ago for some business, and Kim @ La Soiree Production and I decided to hang out with them for the the afternoon.   I have to tell you I haven’t been to an import event for over 10 years and lots have changed.  One cool thing I saw at the car show and that I’ve never seen live before is ‘Drifting‘….the last time I heard about that and seen that was from the movie Fast and Furious Tokyo Drift…LOL!

Here are some pictures from the show…from my camera and Duc’s camera.

I thought this video called “How to Look Great in Photographs“, I thought it was very humorous when I came acrossed it and watched it today.  I would like to share some of the tips they have to offer and suggested about what to wear during a photo shoot and what not to wear, what to do and what not to do while taking a photograph.  The video was very well put together and humorous with helpful tips for your next engagement photo shoot, wedding day photo shoot, or modeling photo shoot.

As a make-up artist and hair stylist in Orange County, CA…I love to share ‘trick of the trade‘ and ‘beauty secrets‘ to all my clients.  I came across this make-up and beauty blog by Karen today and found it very helpful and would like to share it with everyone.  I hope all my clients, friends, and family find ‘how to look your best in pictures‘ helpful for your next engagement photography session with your photographer, wedding day photography poses , senior portraits and photo shoot session, and modeling photo shoots.

look your best in pictures, canon 40D, how to take a good photo, photos techniques, great photo tricks and tips

  • Try a 3/4 pose. If you’re standing, turn slightly and rest your weight on one foot. If you’re sitting, angle slightly to one side or the other. Doing so angles the body, tips the shoulders a little and angles the head just a bit. It adds dimension to your pics and looks more interesting and natural than a straight-ahead pose.
  • Lean slightly toward the camera. It adds interest, dimension and looks natural, too. Think of having a long neck like a giraffe. Tilt your chin down slightly to hide any double chin/s and to block the camera’s view up your nostrils.
  • Learn, like Tyra says, to smile with your eyes. Think coy and demure, like a cougar luring her prey to come closer by acting harmless and innocent. Huge ear-to-ear smiles focus attention on your gums and can make you look like you’re squinting.
  • Think BAM! Practice a picture pose trigger. Models are taught to change their state of mind in an instant by developing a trigger. When they’re about to have their picture taken, even if they feel like crap, they fire their trigger and BAM! — great photo. One trigger you hear a lot about is called the rear cheek squeeze.

Don’t laugh, but it’s just like it sounds — you squeeze the cheeks of your rear end together and hold them that way for the shot. :) Try it in your next picture.

  • Keep looking up! That is, don’t look directly at the lens; look slightly above it. It brightens the eyes in pictures and makes you look more vibrant and alive.

Early this month I got the opportunity to visit Project Wedding’s headquarters in Pasadena (eHarmony.com) and visit the ladies and the behind the scenes of Project Wedding.  I had a FABULOUS time with the ladies and we all headed to lunch after our makeover session.  Thanks Kristeen (Community Coordinator), Margaret (Co-founder of Project Wedding), and Cynthia (eHarmony Photographer) for taking care of me that day and showing me around!

Early this month I decided to do a quick mini photo shoot at our Irvine studio with Tracie, I wanted to do an extreme look for her and give her temporary bangs.  Haven’t you heard..”Bangs are in and its the new black!”  Here are some pictures of us behind the scene working before the shoot.  Thanks Linh for taking great photos for us and helping us out that day!

We had a wonderful time working on the Taylor Event in Dana Point last weekend and we are normally so busy working that we never get a chance to take any pictures together, so I made sure we at least got a group photo before we left!  So here is a behind the scenes photo of us together before we wrapped up for the day.

I have to admit that I try to throw very creative and unique theme parties, but my good friend, Brittanie, has out done herself again!  A couple of weeks ago Brittanie had a “Ken and Barbie” theme birthday party and Kim Luong from La Soiree Production and I got to attend.  It’s been a while since Halloween that I’ve dressed up so elaborate for a party.  I have to admit that it was so much fun dressing up…and doing something that you would never do!

I know the “Harajuku” fashion trend has really been popular lately, with the Harajuku Girls and Gwen Stefani herself called ‘Love’, ‘Lil’ Angel’, ‘Music’, ‘Baby’ and ‘G’ (Gwen) and MAC Cosmetics Hello Kitty special edition collection.  I decided to be something that I can totally go extreme on the clothing, makeup, and hair…so I became a Harajuku Barbie for the night!  I still can’t stop laughing at the photos from the party when I see them.  Here are some photos from our festive activities for the night.

The All Made Up Team had a pleasure to work on Kristeen’s wedding back in November at the beautiful Marvimon Venue in Downtown Los Angeles.  Let me tell you a little bit about the Marvimon venue history, it was built by an Italian race car driver in 1924 as one of the first Los Angele’s automobile showrooms.  The Marvimon now has reinvented itself as a stand-alone, super-loft open to events, exhibitions, production, and fine living.

It is very special to me to blog about Kristeen’s wedding, because she is the sweetiest and kindness person ever!  Kristeen is also the Project Wedding Community Coordinator, she is the ‘go to’ person for any wedding questions and makes our wedding community a wonderful resource for our ‘brides-to-be’!

Kristeen’s wedding was a very small and intimate wedding of  80 guests, and was your ‘Do It Yourself’ (DIY) bride, here are some FABULOUS photos Trista Lerit Photography took of the beautiful event and hair by the All Made Up Team.  Click here to see Kristeen’s Wedding slideshow.

Early this month I had a FABULOUS opportunity to work with Northern California fashion photographer, Keith Selle. Keith came down from Sacramento to visit us and the All Made Up Team got a chance to work on a couple of upcoming projects with him.  We all had a great time together during his short stay, thanks Keith for sharing the FABULOUS photos with us!

The All Made Up Team and La Soiree Production this past weekend did our first photo shoot after our remodel early this month.  I also decided to test my video editing skills on a MAC computer with “iMovie” and got the hang of it after the first hour but I found it very limited in features that I want to use,  hopefully I will get better with the next video (which is coming soon…).
